Countdown begins for Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show as exhibitor deadline nears
Time is running out for enthusiasts to enter their exhibits into one of the UK’s best-loved heritage machinery events.
The Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show will return to Newark Showground on 8 and 9 November, but exhibitors only have until 17 September to secure their place in this year’s line-up.
Each autumn, the showground comes alive with the sights and sounds of more than 1,000 tractors, engines, implements and commercial vehicles, drawing over 10,000 attendees from across the country.
Alongside its unrivalled displays, the event has built a reputation as a friendly, social weekend where newcomers and seasoned exhibitors share their passion for rural machinery.
“Exhibitors are the beating heart of the show,” says Simon Eccleston, CEO of the Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society, which organises the event. “Every restoration tells a personal story, whether it’s a machine passed down through generations or a classic rescued from the brink. The result is an event full of character and connection.”
More than a competition
While the event hosts 49 judged classes and highly subscribed anniversary features, many exhibitors return for the camaraderie as much as the competition. Club stands are also a popular feature, offering societies and groups the chance to bring together a varied mix of machines under one banner.
On-site camping helps create a vibrant atmosphere, with early-morning engine starts, late-night conversations and friendships that last well beyond the weekend.
Ben Knowles, who will be the show’s Chief Steward for the first time in November, said: “The Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage Show is a fantastic two days out for everyone who loves our farming heritage. It’s a real celebration of restoration and the preserving of important history, showcasing some of the very best examples of tractors and working vehicles in the country.
“Every machine on display has been cared for by passionate and knowledgeable owners, and together they help keep these remarkable stories alive for future generations.”
Anniversary displays set to shine
The 2025 programme celebrates a remarkable series of engineering milestones. Among the highlights are 100 Years of Caterpillar – which is sponsored by J C Balls & Sons – and 80 Years of the Field Marshall Series One and Fordson Major E27N. Chantry Agricultural Engineers is sponsoring the 60 Years of Zetor imports into England feature, and there is also a feature on Cummins Engines, plus a major tribute to Gardner engines.
A focus on potato implements and handling equipment will showcase innovation in crop production, while the commercial vehicle section pays homage to 60 Years of the Ford Series D Lorry — a firm favourite with restorers and showgoers alike.
Enter now before it’s too late
With the closing date of 17 September fast approaching, organisers are encouraging exhibitors to submit entries soon, particularly for the themed anniversary classes. Exhibitors can enter online at www.newarkvintagetractorshow.com where visitor tickets and camping passes are also available.
